Lord God, I thank You for Your Word, that is alive; a double-edged sword, cutting through our hearts and removing that which is not of You and fighting against all the powers and principalities that are against us. I thank You Lord God, for Your wisdom and understanding, granted through the power of the Holy Spirit, that is our Guide and Teacher in the way of Truth.

In Jesus' name. Amen.

Let's jump into today's verse, and see what God has in store for us:

'Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. ' 2 Peter 1:4 NIV
'By these he has given us very great and precious promises, so that through them you may share in the divine nature, escaping the corruption that is in the world because of evil desire. ' 2 Peter 1:4 CSB
'And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires. ' 2 Peter 1:4 NLT
'by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.' II Peter 1:4 NKJV
'For by these He has bestowed on us His precious and magnificent promises [of inexpressible value], so that by them you may escape from the immoral freedom that is in the world because of disreputable desire, and become sharers of the divine nature. ' 2 Peter 1:4 AMP

Through these [His glory and goodness], He has generously and graciously given us His precious and magnificent [of inexpressible value and great, in the widest sense] promises (which are listed throughout Scripture), so that by them [His promises, His Word] we may escape from the corruption in the world that is caused by human desires.

This means to me, that not only did Christ Jesus already die for our sins, thus forgiving us and making us righteous in the sight of the Lord Almighty, Father God; He also granted us access to His divine nature, that broke free from the power of sin in our lives.

We are able to come to the Father, through the blood of Jesus Christ that makes us right in His eyes, so that we may boldly and confidently come before Him. Our Heavenly Father, now sees us as He has seen His only Son Lord Jesus, so that we too are now His sons and daughters sharing in the holy inheritance. One of the promises we received is the precious and magnificent gift of the Holy Spirit, sealing us as God's chosen people; meaning that we hold the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ, within the temple that is our bodies.

We have access to God's divine nature, each day we wake and breathe through the breath granted to us by God; so that we may have all that we need to live holy and consecrated lives according the Will of God that was placed over each of our lives. Sin has no hold on us. Death has no hold on us. So we don't have to live in fear, or by the flesh and give in to our desires, because we hold everything we need to lay those down and put on Christ Jesus instead.

Read the Bible from the perspective of a righteous person; when the Bible mentions the righteous, read it as if it is speaking about you; because it is. If you have declared and openly proclaimed Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and have received the precious baptism of the Holy Spirit; than you have already been made right in the sight of God; you are made righteous. So read God's love note to us, through the lens of His beloved, because that is who you are; through faith.

- Challenge -

Read the Bible and see if you pinpoint for yourself some of the promises our Lord Jesus Christ has given us. Allow the Holy Spirit to help in this discovery, pray for wisdom and understanding.

Meditate on these promises so that the Truth of them can enable you to receive it in your heart, mind, and spirit; so that your life would be a reflection of the divine nature that lives within us.

- Closing Prayer -

Father God, I thank You for Your unfailing love. I thank You for being my Father, my Mentor, my Guide, my Teacher, my Advocate, my Comforter, my Conscience, and my Lord and Savior. I thank You for who You are Lord God, and what has already been done for us all. May we all receive the revelation of what has truly been done for us, that we may live it our according to the way it was intended, Lord God. May we receive the fullness of all the spiritual blessings that have been made available to us in Christ Jesus.

May those who are meant to be called, be called and come to their rightful place as Your children, Lord God; may those who are lost be found and comforted and given peace beyond their understanding; but with revelation to praise and worship You, Lord God. I pray that those who have yet to know You, that their hearts would be softened to the Gospel, the Good News, and that they may receive salvation, and come to know You with a fervent passion like none other, Lord God. I pray that we all receive a hunger and passion for Your presence, for Your Word, and for prayer, so that as our knowledge of You increases, so does our love and goodness, Lord God. I pray that we would receive peace and grace where it is needed, strength and courage where it is needed, boldness and confidence in You to be conduits of Your love and power and glory, so that all would know You sent us, and all the glory and honor and praise would be for You, Lord God.

In Jesus' name. Amen.
